The earliest known reference to Moo Moo Subaru belongs to an Instagram account that posted they'd gone "mooing" in November of 2021!

In June of 2023 it gained popularity thanks to the creation of the first Moo Moo Subaru Facebook group.

The largest and first Moo Moo Subaru Facebook Group is home to both members of the Moo Moo Subaru community as well as vendors and small businesses.

While membership is free, vendors are enrolled in their subscription program.

Mooing is when someone leaves a cow-themed item on the windshield or tucked in the door handle of a fellow Subaru owner's vehicle.​
